Today I want to share a video I made on what is Generational Stamping and how to do it. In this video, I demonstrate how to do the technique. It's super easy and a great way to get more "bang for your buck" with your ink pads and stamps.
Here's the video:
I also have a couple of cards to share with you. They use the Generational Stamping technique.
Here's the 1st card:
This card is 3rd generation stamping. Can you believe I got 3 images from inking up the stamp ONE time!?
Just a quick breakdown of what was used on this card. I used the Hardwood Background Stamp from Stampin' Up!. A 4" circle cut out of Soft Sky card stock. Stamped the hardwood with Marina Mist ink. Punched out 3 flowers from the Petite Petals Punch in the color Blushing Bride. I added White Accents to the centers of each flower. I then used the Celebration Time stamp set to stamp the word "Happy" in Blushing Bride ink. I stamped the "birthday" in Wisteria Wonder ink, as well as the flag banner at the top of the circle. I stamped the little bow in Blushing Bride and fussy cut it out. All of this on a standard A2 size card. (4 1/4" x5 1/2")
The 2nd card is below:
This card is 2nd Generational Stamping.
For this card, I used a Blushing Bride card base, standard A2 size. I stamped the Hardwood Background stamp in Melon Mambo ink. I punched out 3 butterflies in Calypso Coral using the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I added some Basic Pearls to the bodies of the butterflies. Glued them down using a small amount of liquid adhesive on the body only. That way the wings can have some dimension. I then stamped "Praying for You" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White card stock. I punched it out with the Decorative Labels Punch. I heavily inked the edges and inside area of the entire piece. I added some Whisper White Baker's Twine, tied in a bow. Next I added a Mini Brad for the look of a nail in the fence. I glued the "sign" directly under the brad so it would look like it was a hanging sign on a fence.
I hope you enjoyed the video and card shares. My hope is to inspire you to give it a try!
Happy Stampin' - Pat
